Flexible days dependent on weather:
Monday:
Studio meeting at 9.30. Introduction to students via hard copy and projector. Explore student level and any print samples.
Explain weeks agenda.
Health & safety in and out of the studio/s
Analysing images / via video connected to projector
Overview of equipment. How to set up lighting.
Using video camera projection – view camera operation. Explain shutter speed, aperture control, focus control, TLM,
Overview of portable flash and use of slave cells.
Loading large format film holders using changing bag. Two DDS for each student & Label.
During mid day break
Macro shots by canal ( private land ).
Tuesday:
Ashridge Tower – converging vertical demo.
Large format demonstration ( using Polaroid ). Camera movements. Lens / bellows implications. Taking ‘external’ meter readings.
Using model: environmental portraiture. Two children supplied for wigwam shots / red Indians make over.
Sparkler long exposures – using kids supplied by us -
Make-
Wednesday:
Studio portraits ( model – no make up artists ) till mid day.
Windmill. Wild deer. Autumnal shots. Break in Aldbury
Fungi shots – lighting with slaved flash / coloured jells
Thursday:
Photoshop day. Tethered laptop projected. Small set with under lighting. Double exposure (using set up motor bike in studio). Demonstration of using tools / procedures. Cropping and sizing for repro and print – students to break into two’s – one taking pics – other on laptops.
Friday:
Totternhoe church shoot. Using studio flash, generators, fog machine. Gothic ‘glam’
horror theme – with make-
Full on demonstration and student photo opportunity for portfolio.

In no particular order – dependent on model, make up artist and location availability. Weather will be reviewed and at short notice and change of agenda may occur to coincide with best conditions for proposed shoot.
Equipment will be supplied for demonstration and student use.
STUDENTS SHOULD NOT CARRY OR SET UP ANY EQUIPMENT UNLESS DEMONSTRATED.

A brief agenda of the week is as follows:
Studio ‘B’ and field / grounds, canal and windmill based portraiture / modelling / using natural and supplemented controlled lighting.
Studio ‘B’ based photo shop group tutorial ( viewing of images and demonstration of post production technique ). Digital explained. Product shots. Possible interior shots with multiple hand flash and available light balance.
Autumnal Flora & Fauna based day using variety of lenses to include close up and macro. Wild deer with long lenses to fungi close up.
To include architectural photography on route.
Project day – Luton Uni project help / Boat yard shoot. Industrial shots.
Location photography of model/s at church location. Horror / gothic theme – mobile lighting , filters and jelled lighting, double exposure, movement, large format camera operation with B/W filtration also demonstrated.
Please meet at the studio ( unless otherwise arranged ) each day at 9.30 a.m. All shoot travel / location photography will commence at 10 a.m.
Students will be working with generators and smoke machines on location at stages – dependent on weather.

All rules, regulations and conditions of stay at any arranged accommodation must be obeyed. Any student will be asked to leave for poor or unacceptable behaviour, endangering themselves or others, non compliance to direction by nominated work based learning leaders or any reporting of unacceptable acts or infringements of conditions set by either the providers of the work based learning programme, accommodation or any third party. All and any prior arrangements on location may be reviewed and changed at any time as deemed necessary.
No person has permission to talk or supply images to any press or broadcast organisation without prior permission of Pete Sheppard.
